How Many Licks?
This is a spoof of the old Tootsie Pop commercials.

I wrote this in a response to our world wide oil dependancy.

When will we ever learn?

These are a couple of sketches that I did over an unknow annimator's pencils(for Red) and Bruce Timm's pencils(for Harley). I did these after a friend was trying to convince me of the vurtues of inking with a Sharpie marker. Fun, but not for a living.

New Graphic Illustration Work.
First we have a Tee design created for a local elementary school. I was commissioned to create an updated rendering of their schools mascot in a walking position. These are being given out to all of the students and staff for a walk-a-thon to raise money of a new outdoor walking track for the school.

Second we have a pencil sketch of an as yet unnamed sheep girl commissioned for a website, finished pencils and inks forth
coming.

Yager Strikes Again!

Here is a previously posted Mystique dawing, now inked by John Yager.

I Photoshopped it up into this design, shot a non-repro blue print of it on artboard and gave it to John.

Two For The Show...

First we have a sketch of Batman Beyond that I drew in my sketchbook last year when my oldest son, Sage, and I discovered this great annimated series togehter.

I had missed it in it's original run.
I missed out.

The need for me to finish some of the many incomplete illustrations that I have had going over the last several years, and this one in particular, is what brought John Yager and my self into our collaboration.

The second image is the inked version of this Batman Beyond by John Yager.

This is the style in which our upcomming web comic will be executed. And for those of you who read Dirk Manning's Write or Wrong column at Newsarama this week, including comments from me reguarding the importance of collaboration, here is a fine example of John taking my basic drawing, using it as a guideline, and adding so much more with his stylistic choices, that it became an illustration with a whole new life.

Third we have a reworked version of the is sketch into the black costumed Spiderman. I intend for this to be displayed on a fansite, or at CountingDown.com in the near future.

There's A New Inker In Town!

Here is the inked version of the rocketman that I have previously posted.

Noted how John has added a striking high contrast effect to the artwork.

In the coming weeks John and I will be releasing a weekly serialized web comic.

I will handel the writing, penciling, lettering, and some of the design work.

John will be inking the pages, and handeling the bulk of the creative design work. The style that John will be using will add tremendously to the atmosphere of the story.

I hope to see you soon!

Only Happy When It Rains
Here are the pencils and the finshed art to a one page I did up for Nightmare World. It was to be a spoof o the Creature from the Black Lagoon. I suggested to the writer Dirk Manning tat we could make the couple Archie and Veronica, there by making it a double spoof. He agreed and it seemed to work out well. What do you think? Daredevil: The Man Without Fear Posted by Picasa
This piece was pencilled in my sketchbook as a preliminary drawing for an upcoming watercolor painting. I would also like to make note of some behind-the-seens editing that has been taking place here at the FadingSun Studio. My good friend Alan Coil, writer of the Popthought.com column The Sixth Decade, has been editing my posts to present correct spelling and grammar. You can read his newest column by following the link here on this site.
