Happy Halloween!

From Wikipedia:

Kolchak: The Night Stalker is an American television series that aired on ABC during the 1974-1975 season. It featured a fictional Chicago newspaper reporter—Carl Kolchak, played by Darren McGavin—who investigates mysterious crimes with unlikely causes, particularly ones law enforcement authorities won't pursue. Often these crimes involve some element of the supernatural or science fiction, such as fantastical creatures.

Sherlock Holmes and the Adventure of the Beryl Coronet

Part five.

In the August 2012 issue of A Sandusky Bay Journal.

This will be the last issue of The Journal.

I have valued my time in the Sandusky Bay.

Joe Kubert, A Personal Hero...

It has taken me three weeks to say my good byes to Joe.

I re-read the entire Enemy Ace stories as well as the original five issues of Ragman (my favorite DC Comics character).

As many of you know, Joe Kubert was a hero of mine. I attended the Kubert School starting back in 1997.

I illustrated this image of Ragman, created by Kubert and Kanigher in 1976 (my born the same year), to commemorate his life and influence on me.

Have a good rest Joe, you have earned it.

From the New York Times:
Influential Comic-Book Artist
Joe Kubert Dies at 85.

The cause was multiple myeloma, his son Adam said.

Mr. Kubert, who first plied his trade as a teenager in the 1930s and continued drawing in the hospital during his final illness, was among the last of the generation of comic-book illustrators whose work helped define the genre in the years before World War II.

“He’s the longest-lived continuously important contributor to the field,” Paul Levitz, a former president of DC Comics, said in an interview on Monday. “There are two or three of the greats left, but he’s definitely one of the last.”

Mr. Kubert (pronounced CUE-bert) was most closely associated with DC, for whom he drew Sgt. Rock, a World War II infantryman he created with the writer Robert Kanigher, and Hawkman, an airborne crime fighter. He also created Tor, a prehistoric hero, and, with Mr. Kanigher, Enemy Ace, whose antihero is a German pilot.

In addition, Mr. Kubert was considered one of the definitive interpreters of Tarzan.

Through the Kubert School, an academy in Dover, N.J., that he founded with his wife, Muriel, in 1976, Mr. Kubert helped train a generation of young colleagues. The country’s only accredited trade school for comic-book artists, it enrolls students from around the world in a three-year program; well-known graduates include Amanda Conner, Tom Mandrake, Rags Morales and Timothy Truman.

Nightmare World's Last Bow.

On the last page of the last story of Nightmare World, the critically acclaimed Pioneering Web comic written by Dirk Manning, now hosted at Image Comic’s Shadowline, there is a cameo appearance of The Twilight Crusader, a character created by Dirk and myself for the 39th story in the original run of the comic.

Though the 8 page story was scrapped due to being outside the master story continuity, Dirk squeaked the cover in here as a comic lying on his real world work desk!

Thanks Dirk!

The Big World Adventures of Peter Gallant

Here is the cover art for the now-in-progress King-Sized Summer Special.

Peter Gallant is an all age’s book about an adventurous boy by the name of Pete Gallant. He is a genius and a very athletic kid. He thinks outside the box, but knows how to play in the defined rules... until he can't. And then he does what he needs to get the job done!

Think Denis the Menace meets young Indiana Jones.

Video Game Character: Urban Cowboy.

More production art.

I have been working on a video game design and animations for a few months now.
NEVER LET A COWBOY MAKE YOU COFFEE.
An experiment in creativity.

My friend and co-creator on The World Citizen Organization comic (
http://www.worldcitizenorganization.com/), Dan Kuntz and I are trying an interesting way to create comics...

I drew this cover, and created the logo for the book.

I then showed them to Dan and asked him to come up with an issue title.

After telling me the title, I drew the first page and showed to Dan.

Dan then wrote the page that you see here.

I am now going to draw the next page, how ever i fell the story should go, and then Dan will write that page's script, and so on, until we have a completed story.

That will keep us both fresh on the project, and will lead us to an unexpected story!

The Big World Adventures of Peter Gallant

I have come to the conclusion that I have way too many projects I want to write and draw that I will never get to them all.

First and foremost I am a storyteller. I have started looking for artist's that wish to be part of a submission package to the bigger indie companies, and hopefully we can get picked up.

First up, I have an all age’s book about an adventurous boy by the name of Pete Gallant. He is a genius and a very athletic kid. He thinks outside the box, but knows how to play in the defined rules... until he can't. And then he does what he needs to get the job done!

Think Denis the Menace meets young Indiana Jones.
