TEETH is a comics project that hopes to accomplish several important goals: reclaim the werewolf trope from the clutches of TWILIGHT, explore the historical basis of werewolf mythology, and use those myths as a platform for exploring other popular horror/dark fantasy tropes and storytelling conventions. (For those familiar with mainstream comics, TEETH will be similar to the DC/Wildstorm series PLANETARY in execution). The intent is to produce a 5-page preview "ashcan" (available to all supporters) and 4 to 6 22-page self-contained chapters. The Kickstarter funds would cover production of only the preview story and the first issue. Kickstarter support would cover the following: art supplies (ink, paper), the hiring of a professional colorist and letterer/finisher, printing costs for a print run based in large part on the amount of kickstarter support, printing costs for promotional materials that will be available to Kickstarter supporters (e.g. posters). The initial kernel of inspiration comes from an actual historical account of an alleged werewolf, recorded in Eastern Europe during the 17th century: "A notable exception to the association of Lycanthropy and the Devil, comes from a rare and lesser known account of an 80-year-old man named Thiess. In 1692, in Jurgenburg, Livonia, Thiess testified under oath that he and other werewolves were the Hounds of God. He claimed they were warriors who went down into hell to do battle with witches and demons.".
